In 2005, Agricap was a mid-market mortgage lender Morein California serving the Pacific region and Central America. Their overall agricultural finance business was growing, but their mortgage lending business was actually shrinking. The process of collaborating with mortgage brokers to put together a loan package took so much staff time that they barely had time to service the loans they had.
The CEO, Richard Kostkas, told us of his problem. Within three months, they were up and running on the EaseMore loan origination system. Kostkas says, “With EaseMore, we now have the capacity to double our mortgage portfolio every six months.”

Initially, they spot checked manually to confirm that the information used in building the waterfall was accurate. This was okay, but if they needed to do more in-depth analysis because they found errors in the spot checks, it strained their capacity.
When their deadline for completing monthly activity was cut from two weeks to two days, they turned to the Early Warning System. In its first month of operation, the system detected over 200 errors. These would have made a material difference in the bond waterfall, potentially costing TBE a drawdown on the portfolio’s liquidity facility and a loss of investor credibility. Thanks to the Early Warning System, this crisis never materialized.
